Greenhouse #2: Chives

one of my biggest problems is knowing how many plants are needed for each container.

take this lovely picture of a chive plant below. did all of this come from only one seed over time or is it the product of many seeds?

after seeing the chives growing in my windowsill kit, i decided that i should probably plant more to be on the safe side. so today i sowed 8 more cells with about 8-9 seeds in each. i currently have them under a warm light bulb. it is the only safe heat source i have and keeps the Jiffy greenhouse at about 80°F.

so now i have a total of 10 chive clusters growing (excluding my windowsill kit). i will keep the 2 yogurt containers for myself and will divide the 8 peat pellets into two 3-inch containers that will later be potted up and gifted.
