last night i noticed that the
tomato seedlings' roots were filling up the
peat pellets and they needed more room to grow. so today i transplanted them to bigger pots. i filled 3 small pots with moistened potting soil (i added
diluted liquid fertilizer to the water). i placed each tomato seedling in the center and buried about an inch of the stems (tomatoes are one of the only plants you can do this with because their buried stems will grow roots). then i watered them to help settle the soil and placed them in my window along with my
parsley seedlings.

i gave the pellets lots of water but did not soak them. this will make the transplanting less stressful |

tomato
seedlings after transplant. the stems are buried so they can grow a stronger
root system |
